Carets, selections, presses and the input method box measured the line as columns times one 'm', so a wide character (CJK, emoji) put the caret mid-glyph. editor::measure lays out the drawn line; rulers and indent guides stay on the column grid; whitespace marks hide the rest. The document carries Markdown's editing tools for ElyMark (MARK-06): Enter continues a list item or ends an empty one, Tab and Shift-Tab shift an open block's lines, table rows and columns come and go as one undo step, a match shows in any mode, replacements are one step, and a fenced block colors by its language. ZacharyZhang-NYandClaude Opus 5.5	2b6f5513aa	MarkdownDocument: a Markdown file in one CodeEditor, shown visual, source, split or preview ... Visual draws the top-level blocks in a gpui list; a pressed block opens as its source and its typing is the text at once, written back as one undo step. CodeEditor takes the owner's line colors, resets with a fresh history and keeps at most 64 MiB of undo text. MarkdownMode gains Preview.
