David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5.5 b18ab4952b Add a no-animations mode, on by default in VMs (#13550)
A machine without a GPU, like most VMs, renders through llvmpipe on the
CPU, where every animated frame and every translucent window costs. In a
VM, opening and closing a terminal took ~5s of CPU; a panel ~3.4s.

omarchy toggle animations (also under Toggle > Animations) places a Hyprland
flag that turns off animations, blur and shadows and makes windows opaque.
The shell follows Hyprland's animations:enabled, rereading it on every
config reload: its one-shot animations run for Style.duration(ms), which
is then 0, and its spinners, pulses and title marquee hold still. A new
install in a VM starts with the flag in place.

Measured in the ISO test VM (llvmpipe), CPU per interaction:
terminal open+close 5000ms -> 481ms, workspace switch 1670ms -> 409ms,
audio panel 3446ms -> 796ms, volume OSD 2324ms -> 584ms, menu 2028ms ->
1241ms.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5.5 c231097df7 Answer omarchy-shell calls over the shell's own socket (#13435)
* Answer omarchy-shell calls over the shell's own socket

Every omarchy-shell call started a qs ipc client, ~45ms of startup for one
IPC call: a theme switch makes two, and every script-driven OSD, toggle
refresh and lock query paid it too.

The shell now serves a socket in XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, named from its config
path and Wayland display as qs ipc selects its instance, and omarchy-shell
tries it first through socat, which starts in ~5ms. First-party handlers
register as ShellIpc, an IpcHandler that qs ipc still reaches, and the
socket calls only the functions a handler declares with their exact
argument count, allowed by name so QObject methods such as destroy() stay
out of reach.

When the shell ran nothing it answers SKIP, and omarchy-shell asks qs ipc
for its exact answer, so errors, third-party plugins and an unreachable
socket behave as before. A call that may have run is never retried: a
timeout or a connection closed without an answer reports the shell as not
responding.

omarchy-shell shell ping takes ~13-18ms instead of ~61ms, and omarchy-osd
reaches the screen in ~36ms instead of ~77ms. Output and exit status match
the qs ipc path across 26 calls, errors and quiet mode included.

* Only accept whole socket replies and retry only unmade connections

A reply cut off after its OK prefix passed for the whole answer, and an
empty reply with socat failing was retried through qs ipc although the
request might already have been delivered.

An answer now counts only once its record separator arrived. socat's own
errors join the reply, so only its connect error, a socket nothing
listens on, falls back to qs ipc beside an explicit SKIP; anything else
is reported as not responding rather than retried.

d3d9bea1ee Add a clock format with live seconds (#7586)
* Add a clock format with live seconds

Right-clicking the clock now reaches "Thursday 09:39:23" and its AM/PM twin, and the widget's SystemClock ticks once a second only while a format that prints seconds is showing — every other format keeps the minute precision it had, so nobody pays for a repaint a second to read a label that changes once a minute.

* Read an unterminated literal in a clock format as text

Qt reads an opening quote with no closing one as a literal running to the end of the format, so "HH:mm 'sec" prints "09:39 sec" and never a second count — but the seconds test stripped only balanced quotes, saw the s, and put the widget on a per-second tick for a label that changes once a minute. The wiring assertions went the other way: each passed while the feature was broken, so hard-coding showsSeconds to false, dropping the label's onDateChanged, or commenting the precision line out and leaving the text behind all shipped green. Comments now come out of the source before it is matched, and both halves of the tick are asserted.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5 25bee1d2a3 Keep the calendar's day names in English (#6988)
The calendar grid's header row and the week-start toggle label were the only
text in the shell that followed the system locale, so a German desktop drew
MO DI MI over an interface that is English everywhere else. Nothing chose that;
they were the only two places reading day names off Qt.locale().

Take them from en_US instead. Where the week starts still follows the locale:
that is a regional convention rather than a translation, and it stays
overridable through weekStartDay.

Dropping the trailing-period strip with it, since that existed only for the
locales this no longer renders.

Scott JonesandClaude Opus 5 72ffd58316 Offer AM/PM clock formats when right-clicking the bar clock (#6536)
Every preset in the right-click ring was 24-hour, so a 12-hour label was
something you had to hand-write into shell.json. Pair each locale-shaped
time preset with its AM/PM twin, and give vertical bars one stacked
variant. The ISO preset keeps its 24-hour clock, since ISO 8601 writes
time that way.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Fable 5 f54edbeba8 Expose the shell's remaining UI-only toggles over IPC
Every toggle you could only reach by mouse or panel hotkey is now
scriptable through omarchy-shell:

- omarchy.bluetooth toggleBluetooth — the radio (was right-click / B)
- omarchy.network toggleNetwork — Wi-Fi on/off (was W in the panel)
- omarchy.tailscale toggleTailscale — the connection as one call,
matching the widget's right-click, instead of separate up/down
- omarchy.clock toggleWeekStart — calendar week start (was W)
- shell toggleBarTransparency — the bar background (was manage UI only)

Bluetooth and network follow the power/monitor pattern: manageIpc: false
so the panel owns the target's single IpcHandler and can extend it past
the inherited lifecycle methods.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5 9e3da4e27f Count the other progress bar too
Double-tapping the year bar asks for a birth year and a life expectancy,
and a second bar appears below measuring one against the other. Tab moves
between the two, Enter commits the pair, Escape drops them. Hovering the
bar names the thing, and double-tapping it puts it away again.

A birth year rather than an age, so the bar keeps counting on its own
instead of going stale the moment it is entered. Expectancy defaults to
ninety and falls back to it when what is entered makes no sense, so the
bar always has something to measure against; a birth year that makes no
sense leaves the bar hidden instead, which is also where it starts.
Putting the bar away keeps the expectancy, so setting a birth year again
brings your own number back rather than the default.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5 c619865432 Keep the center hover reveal honest when panels hand off
Claiming the shared suppression flag before showing meant the outgoing
panel's close cleared it again, leaving the incoming panel open with the
indicators still revealed. Guarding the clear instead only moved the
problem: handing off to a panel that does not manage the flag left it
stuck on, and the center indicators stopped revealing on hover for good.

Claim it after the handoff instead. The panel taking over always wins,
and a handoff to a panel that knows nothing about the flag still leaves
it cleared.

David Heinemeier HanssonandClaude Opus 5 e2d655d265 Add a calendar popup to the clock
Clicking the clock reveals a month grid with ISO week numbers, a year
progress meter, and month stepping. Right click walks the common label
formats and writes the chosen one back to shell.json, so the bar shows
what the config stores. The week start toggles from the grid's "W"
heading and persists as weekStartDay, defaulting to the locale's own
first day.

Rich popup widgets live in their own plugin directories, so the clock
moves out of bar/widgets/ into panels/clock/. The id is unchanged, so
existing layouts and centerAnchor keep working.
