* Stop closed network panels from leaving Wi-Fi scanning enabled
refresh() defaults scanWifi to false and its no-scan branch enabled the
scanner unconditionally. Five paths reach it with no panel on screen —
Component.onCompleted, clearNetworkAction(), failNetworkAction(), the
band-change actionProc exit, and the 30s actionTimeout — so the scanner
stayed on and Quickshell kept re-arming RequestScan behind a closed panel.
scanRestart had the mirror gap: it enabled the scanner 100ms after
refresh(true) without re-checking that the panel was still open.
Every sweep takes the radio off the operating channel, so this degraded
the link it was scanning from: one sweep every 17s, gateway RTT rising
from ~2ms to repeated 150ms+ spikes on an otherwise idle connection.
Gate the scanner block on the panel being open, cancel a pending restart
on close and re-check the panel when it fires, and track the WifiDevice
this instance enabled so close, device replacement and destruction
release the right object. Destruction matters on its own: a bar reload
with the panel open would otherwise die with opened still true and never
write scannerEnabled = false.
* Cover the scanner ownership helper's own invariants
The previous assertion only pinned that no write bypasses
setScannerEnabled(); it said nothing about what the helper does. Dropping
either the opened gate or the release-before-adopt from the helper still
passed, while a closed instance could reclaim scanning and a device swap
could leave the previous interface scanning.
Run the helper's actual JavaScript against stand-in devices instead,
following the extract-and-eval pattern the agents panel tests already use.
Removing either invariant now fails its own assertion.
* fix(network): drop the redundant rescan on the bar click
Opening from the bar ran open() and then a bare refresh(). open() already
triggers onOpenedChanged -> refresh(true), which defers the PHY scan by
disabling the scanner and re-enabling it from scanRestart. The bare
refresh() that followed defaults scanWifi to false, so it took the other
branch and set wifiDevice.scannerEnabled synchronously on the click frame,
undoing the deferral and stalling the open on NetworkManager's access-point
flood. It also double-started the DNS and band probes.

already asserts against Panel.qml source, so assert the closed branch calls

Treat an auth timeout on a protected network as a wrong saved passphrase
and reopen the prompt; connectWithPsk overwrites the stored PSK on submit.

Background auto-connect retries also fire connectionFailed; without a
gate they would pop the passphrase prompt open unbidden, stealing focus
and wiping a passphrase mid-entry when another network fails.
For the gate to see the failure, the action safety-net timer must
outlast NetworkManager's 25s supplicant timeout -- at 15s it cleared the
action state before WifiAuthTimeout arrived, so a wrong saved password
showed "Timed out connecting" instead of "Wrong password". Bump it to
30s.
Also share the one ConnectionFailReason map between the Model.js
helpers instead of building a second partial copy inline.

Scanning the QR is the fast path, but the person typing on a laptop needs
the actual password. A dimmed "Show password" hint under the QR toggles
the secret in place.
The password stays out of the shell until asked for: a click runs the new

closing the card drops it again. Open and enterprise networks never show
the control.
The card loses its Close button -- Escape and clicking outside already
cover it -- and now sizes itself to its content.

Pins the active connection to 2.4/5/6GHz, or leaves the choice automatic.
The section only appears on Wi-Fi when the network answers on more than one
band, or while a pin is in force so it stays clearable.
bin/omarchy-network-band reports and sets the band. It sets NetworkManager's
802-11-wireless.band rather than pinning a BSSID: NM 1.44+ accepts a third
band value so 5 and 6GHz can be pinned apart, and a band survives an AP
rotating its BSSIDs while leaving roaming between APs intact. It refuses a
band the network does not answer on, and restores the previous setting if
reassociation fails rather than leaving the machine offline.
Under Automatic the pills collapse and the header reads the live band
("WI-FI BAND: 2.4GHZ"); pinning reveals them and the header goes plain. The
height is animated, and the section stays mounted through the reconnect a
band change causes -- otherwise `kind` briefly stops being "wifi" and the
whole segment would tear down and rebuild.
Two fixes to the same panel fall out of this:
- Every stat row stays mounted and reads "--" until it has data, instead of
appearing a beat after the panel opens and shoving the rows below down.
- The speed test's Run button is scaled to match the band header's controls
and joins the keyboard cursor chain.
ToggleSwitch gains a settable trackHeight so a compact placement can render a
genuinely small switch instead of scaling one down onto fractional pixels.
Defaults are unchanged.

Each panel's hero on/off toggle (Tailscale, Dropbox Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,
network, audio mute) now has a reachable "header" cursor section, a focus
ring around the hero icon, Enter/Space activation, a letter shortcut, and
hover parity. The hero is inset by heroRingPad so the ring stays inside
the Flickable/ScrollView clip box instead of being cut off.
Bluetooth and audio get a virtual "header" section above their device
sections, so the adapter/mute can be toggled by keyboard even when no
device rows exist. Network repurposes its previously dead header section.
For the PanelHero-based panels (Tailscale, Dropbox), route panel state
through the wrapper's `header` id: inside a PanelHero iconComponent `root`
resolves to PanelHero, not the Panel, so `root.headerHasCursor` and
`root.setHeaderCursor()` silently referenced the wrong object.

The pill was populated by polling omarchy-network-status (previously
every 3s, then 10s). Derive kind/signalStrength directly from the
Quickshell.Networking service instead: wired-connected → ethernet
(preferred, matching the default-route device), else a connected Wi-Fi
network → wifi with its signal, else disconnected. The service's
properties are change-notified, so the pill updates on connect/
disconnect and signal changes with no polling and no subprocess.
Removes the last periodic poll from the bar; the label/frequency pill
fields were write-only and are dropped.
Verified live: pill tracks ethernet → disconnected → ethernet in real
time as the wired device goes down and up.

Each `bash -lc` starts a login shell that re-sources the profile
(mise activation, /etc/profile.d) on every invocation — ~16 forks per
call versus ~2 for `bash -c` — which taxes every menu/panel/launcher
action the shell shells out for. The session already exports PATH and
env to the shell, so omarchy commands resolve fine under `bash -c`.
Switch the internal/omarchy-owned spawns (theme+background switches,
brightness, monitor scaling, DNS, lock/fingerprint, keyboard-layout
probe, voxtype status, and the `:`/printf state-file writes) to
`bash -c`. Leave `bash -lc` on the sites that run user-configurable
commands (custom bar-widget exec, menu provider/guard scripts,
launcher scan commands, configurable idle/screensaver command), where
a user's command may rely on their login environment.

The monitor panel polled `omarchy-monitor-state` every 5s (26 forks per
call) and the network panel polled `omarchy-network-status` every 3s,
both with `running: true` rather than gating like the sibling panels.
Monitor: gate the poll on `opened` (brightness/scale are only shown in
the open panel, which already refreshes on open) and drive the bar glyph
from Quickshell.screens instead of the polled display list, so monitor
count stays correct without polling.
Network: the bar pill needs live-ish state, so keep polling but at 10s
instead of 3s. (Deriving the pill from the native Networking service
would remove the poll entirely; left as a follow-up since it needs Wi-Fi
state testing.)
Idle fork rate drops ~20/s to ~14/s.
