1. tests/scripts/linux-packages.sh:37 — The static-binary exception still accepts malformed ELF files solely because their basename is `git-lfs`; round 1 defect 4 is only partly fixed. In a clean Ubuntu container with the rebuilt ElyTree deb installed, replacing its bundled `git/libexec/git-core/git-lfs` with the four bytes `\177ELF` still makes the package check print `ely-tree: 17 ELF files link` and exit zero. Executing that helper fails with “Exec format error” and status 126 (`.work/L1.5-r2-test-errors.log`). Validate complete ELF headers before accepting a static executable, and add a regression case for a malformed bundled helper.
